The following overview is an example of what persistence training is all about:
- The basic premise of persistence is that, all things being equal, success (The reaching of select, valid goals), is a function of sustained directed effort.
- Persistence may be
conceived of as a set of adaptive procedures - i.e.,
goal setting techniques, individuals can learn to use on
a regular basis to sustain directed effort toward
achieving goals.
Upon completion
of the training, you will be able to:
- Assess a situation
easily and Goal set new objectives
- Assess existing
behaviors relative to those goals
- Identity the enabling
objectives necessary to reach those goals
- Modify individual
lifestyles and work styles that tend to enhance peak
performance.
- Employ select adaptive procedures - i.e., self-talk – to maintain the behaviors that will enhance performance further and keep and create anchors that maintain winning attitudes
- Program a new goal image directly into your subconscious
